Guanfacine apparently takes care of ADHD symptoms unaddressed by Adderall: hyperactivity, impulsivity, behavioral and emotional dysregulation. It keeps things so quiet that being able to maintain just a couple of thoughts as desired feels unnerving. I've never had normal* brain but I guess this is how non-ADHD people can regulate?

Plus, it lowers and regulates blood pressure and tachycardia, bonus for me.

*(normal in relation to typical average mean for society. And because I never liked the phrase "normal is just a dryer setting"... cerebral palsy is not normal. There's a basic average normal and I was never it. We debate this often in my palsy groups)

"Guanfacine is in a class of medications called alpha 2a specific adrenergic receptor antagonists or, simply, alpha agonists. For these reasons, the stimulants and the alpha agonists are near-perfect complements for the management of ADHD at all ages. The other medication in this class is clonidine, which is also FDA-approved for the treatment of ADHD in children.

Non-stimulant ADHD medications like guanfacine can also be helpful for patients who can’t take stimulants due to undesirable side effects or who don’t experience any benefits from them."

no but the perception on weed even in fully legal countries is fucking insane. I work for a cannabis producer in Canada, where it's fully recreationally and medicinally legal, and my family still looked at me as if I was choosing a career in kicking puppies when they found out. like I work for one of the most heavily regulated by the government companies in the country, with 20 different certifications we need to pass and all of this safety protocol, and I might as well have told them I decided to just commit murder to make a living. nevermind that i have like 20+ coworkers who are actually able to work for the first time in their life because having accessible cannabis is helping their conditions (and mine!!!). nevermind my friend who was actually able to stop a lot of her MS medication because high doses of CBD can effectively be a replacement treatment with zero side effects (and she can actually access it now!). some people are just so fucking stupid and the fact that they're the same people voting terrifies me.

Mad respect for what you do!! It is a valid profession and I'm sorry your family was awful to you about it :( weed can be a life saver for many people with chronic conditions or mental health issues and I wish people were more compassionate and open to learning instead of judgment and assumptions
